- Tumble 22, the Nashville hot chicken concept, is building out a 3,500-square-foot space on the same corridor, per TDLR filings targeting early 2026 completion.
None of those are destination dining. They're weeknight infrastructure, and infrastructure is what determines whether a suburb feels finished.
The pool becomes a movie theater on select nights
Scott Mentzer Pool at 901 Old Austin Hutto Road runs Pfloating Movie Nights on select summer evenings, and the 2026 lineup is family-programmed on purpose. The featured lineup includes Lilo & Stitch (live action) on June 18 (rescheduled), The Princess and the Frog on July 10, and Zootopia 2 on August 7. You watch from the water or from the deck, whichever you prefer.

Main St) in partnership with the Pecan Street Collective Market and will be held on the first Saturday of each month from 9 – 11 A.M. Same block also hosts Rock the Block, an evening series of live music and food vendors on Main.
The reason to flag both in the same paragraph is that they share a footprint. If you park once on Main between 9 and 11 for coffee and the market, you're scouting the same block you'll come back to that night. That kind of double-use is how a downtown starts to feel like one.
Race weekends at Lake Pflugerville
Lake Pflugerville hosts three summer race weekends, and if you live within a mile of the loop you should know the dates because the parking pattern changes on those mornings.
- Big Kahuna 5K/10K, Sunday June 21, 7:00 a.m., staged from Lake Pflugerville Park, 18216 Weiss Lane.
- Lake Pflugerville Triathlon, Sunday June 28, 2026. This is the marquee event. The city is adding for the first time a run/bike/run duathlon, great for folks who don't like the swim in a full tri, and it's a family-friendly event. Course notes worth knowing: the sprint swim is a 500-meter loop, the ride is on county roads for a 13-mile bike with enough low rollers to keep it interesting, and racers finish with a 3-mile run around the lake on a flat crushed granite trail with water stops along the way.
- Summer Meltdown 5K/QM/HM, Saturday August 15, 2026 from 7:00 AM onwards at Lake Pflugerville Park.
Two useful pieces of context. Race organizers themselves acknowledge the local climate reality: hot and humid — early start essential. And the crushed granite trail is 3.1 miles around, which is why the same loop hosts both the triathlon finish and casual weekend walkers most of the year.
